Underwater plasma
Towards a better society

Blue Dia’s Technology

Why were you born?

Reproducing the power of nature through science

For some reason, years with a lot of thunder tend to result in good harvests.

This is because lightning changes the nitrogen in the air, dissolving it in rain and providing nutrients for plant growth.

We focused on this natural mechanism and wondered, " Can we create functional water with fertilizer and anti-algae properties from water and air? " Blue Deer's technology is a new form of water that solves social issues while learning from nature.

How does it work?

From water and air
Freely create "working molecules"

Blue Deer's technology works by applying electricity to water and air to generate underwater plasma, creating a special type of water called "plasma functional water."

With this technology, specific plasma generation conditions are used to produce active ingredients (such as radicals) in the water that suppress the growth of algae.
Because it can prevent algae without using chemicals, it also reduces cleaning work and enables smart environmental control . Furthermore, underwater plasma has the following three technical advantages:

・High reactivity

Generate highly reactive radicals and molecules from water and air

・Activity control at low temperatures

Reaction possible under mild conditions such as room temperature and water

・Freedom of reaction design

Flexibility to tailor products to suit your needs

These mechanisms have created a unique and highly versatile reaction field that can "functionalize" water using only electrical power.

Where is it useful?

From agriculture to the environment and space.
Expanding application fields

Blue Dia's underwater plasma technology does more than just suppress algae. Its unique ability to "functionalize water" has led to its application in a variety of fields.

- Anti-algae and smart plant factories: Plasma functional water, which is created by adding electricity to water, can suppress the growth of algae without using chemicals.
It significantly reduces cleaning work, contributing to labor-saving and smarter operations . In demonstration experiments, it has been confirmed that it not only has an anti-algae effect, but also improves crop yields and nutritional value.

・Applications in the environmental field: Radicals generated by the power of plasma are expected to be used in reactions that neutralize persistent substances such as PFAS (fluorinated organic compounds), which is attracting attention as a new technology for environmental purification.

・Applications in the fields of materials and chemistry Underwater plasma is also suitable for synthesizing nanoparticles and functional materials, and has the potential to produce high-performance materials under mild conditions .

・The future of space agriculture This technology, which can produce functional water using only water, air, and electricity, is thought to be applicable to recycling agriculture in space or on the moon in the future .

What's so great about it?

From research to the field. Reliable technology takes action in society.

Blue Dia is a company that is responsible for the social implementation of underwater plasma technology, which was developed at Tokyo University of Science.

The patent for this technology has been officially licensed by the university , and we are collaborating with industry as partners to turn research results into business.

Currently, the company is collaborating with domestic plant factories to conduct field trials and collect data. In the future, the company aims to deploy plasma devices in plant factories both in Japan and overseas, realizing cleaning-free smart plant factories.

A reliable academic foundation and the ability to put it into practice in society, backed by on-site verification - this is the reliability of Blue Deer's technology.
